"I found out about New Hope when my life was completely upside down. I needed so much help but did not know where to turn. Within a few short months with New Hope, I have had so many accomplishments. I've gotten settled in my own apartment, started a secretarial course, obtained my driver's license, started working a part-time job and will soon purchase a car to get to school.

Certainly, every day is a struggle and, more times than not, I just want to give up. But I know that I can't just sit back and wait for things to come to me. I want my daughter to have what I never had; a sense of security. New Hope has given me this and now I can pass it on. As for my Big Sister, as the saying goes, I want to be just like her when I grow up! But, I am grown up, so I just try my best to follow her lead." -T.P.

"New Hope literally changed the course of my life, providing crucial help when my son was born and it seemed like we had an uphill battle against the whole world. Friends and family had cut off ties when I refused to get an abortion. New Hope was the one shining light in a great darkness! The incredible dedication of the volunteers gave me an inner strength. They provided day care and a safe, loving environment for my son as I returned to work. Then, because of a recession, I lost my job and was evicted from my apartment, I also discovered that I had cancer and needed an operation; with the loss of my job I had lost my medical insurance. New Hope, so aptly named, arranged for a roof over our heads, clothing, help during my recuperation from surgery, and then a continuation of the day care so I could go on interviews and continue my education. I am now just a few months away from receiving my bachelor degree. Time after time I look into the smiling face of my son, feel his hugs and kisses, and I am so grateful for the gift New Hope has given us." - G.N.
